Taxes, Escrow, Cleaning...Boy do I sound old

This weekend was full of excitement. First I finished up my taxes...and I owe a whopping $1000 Dollars to both the Sate and Federal government. I hope they do something useful with it like building "Affordable Housing" so my neighborhood can experience the joys of the ghetto.

Monday we are going to sign title on our new house. Some refer to this as "signing your life away." Along the same lines Jodi and I started collecting all the information to make W4 adjustments at work so we can maximize our monthly take home. Although it is painful to owe the IRS $2000 this year, next year I get to stick it to em with my deductions....yea! We called Chris Forbus yesterday who is a kick a$$ CPA. She told us what we need to pull together and had us email it to her. What a relief.

Besides all the fun stuff above Jodi and I cleaned the house and dropped off a big load at the Salvation Army...write off! After that Jodi and I went on a nice 1.5 hour bike ride to the Bridge and up through the Presidio. This was really the highlight of the weekend considering the weather has been pretty nasty here.

This morning I walked up the street to get my haircut and stock up on my monthly supply of Asian hot sauce. China Town, now their is a lovely smelling place on a rainy day. Tonight I am going to try my hand at pork chile Verde. The recipe is from Helen, my grandpa's wife. This actually brings me to an interesting point. For Christmas Helen sent Jodi and I a bunch of her authentic Mexican recipes. What a cool idea. This is proof that the best gifts are not always the most expensive gifts.
