We're having a girl!

Jodi here. We found out yesterday... we are having a girl!! I am over the moon, as this is everything I wanted. A springtime baby girl. All the other tests came out very good and she is very healthy. Weighing in at 8 oz. already, they expect the due date to be around 3/13/09 still.

She looks very comfortable in there. Here's a couple pictures. On the right is the between the legs/bottom shot that reveals a big "space", nothin' but umbilical cord, which told the doctor she was a girl.

Todd is a little nervous I think to have a girl. But I think that "nobody loves a daddy like a little girl" and he will just melt when she's finally in his arms. I already promised him I would limit the amount of pink as much as possible. When he asked the color of the nursery, I replied "Not pink" so we agree on that much at least.

Arnold and the Presidents Cup

Here are some pictures from the Presidents cup golf tournament yesterday. My team built an application to showcase in the company suite so we got hooked up with some presidential passes. A very cool team outing and we saw some serious celebrities.

Here are some pictures from Arnold last weekend. We did a hike at 9K ft, and took a look at the progress of mom and dad's new house.

countdown until Oct. 12

We are anxiously awaiting Oct. 12 to finally find out the sex of the baby. Of course, Todd has a hunch it's a boy. Of course, I wouldn't expect him to say otherwise even if he didn't. I'm 17 weeks and I am getting really big (right). Normal clothes are not really an option anymore so my quest is on to find stylish AND reasonable maternity clothes. Yeah, good luck with that one.

We went to Arnold this weekend to see John & Carolyn. It was great catching up with them and relaxing in their cozy mountain house. We were excited to see the progress on the new house-- it is going to be simply beautiful. I can't believe the walls are already going up! We are already having dreams of our kids first ski lessons and weekends with the Janzen grandparents. They are going to be some spoiled grandkids for sure.

Vic & Peg are really thrilled to be first-time grandparents too. My mom has already picked out the 'Pack and Play' and baby swing/jumper, etc. Looks like Todd and I will have some opportunity for some weekends away with such wonderful help all around.

The proud papa has already almost finished the addition of the beadboard to the second bedroom in preparation for the nursery. He claims that its a big project, but we really know its an excuse for him to use all his collection of power tools!
