there is a baby!

This is my blog today, its Jodi here. I thought I would borrow Todd's space for awhile as I see a blog as the best to publish baby news. I prefer it to using Facebook as it seems a little more personal knowing that the librarian from my high school can't see my pictures. I mean, I know her ya, but I don't know if we are that close! Its also great that Todd has been posting here so friends and family know where they can find the update on what the Janzens' are up to!

I went to my 13 week ultrasound last week. Unfortunately, Todd couldn't slip away from work to be at the appointment. But I got some excellent picture souvenirs from the ultrasound posted here. I have to say how emotional it was for me to see for the first time it's little legs moving like crazy. This is the first time I think I have realized how real this little being is growing inside me. The picture finally resembles a baby and not just a peanut in a sack. I am truly blessed to have a healthy little ______(girl or boy) inside me. Fill in blank.

We are very excited to find out the sex of the baby in about a month~ Oct. 12 to be exact. Baby Janzen seems to be poking his way into this world for the first time as my belly is just beginning to really grow. Looks to me like something a little more than a beer belly for now, but I know it will become a more defined baby bump soon. The best part about my work days are coming home and getting into my "comfies" so I can finally relax and let the baby tummy pop out!

Summer Time Sights

Jodi and I have been enjoying the summer. For those who have not heard Jodi is officially 12 weeks pregnant this week. We are super excited. We have been laying a little low but surely not missing out on any fun. Last week we celebrated our 4th year wedding anniversary as well. To celebrate we did dinner and a movie....a rare things these days. We ate at SPQR in the Filmore (Roman Food) and saw "500 Days of Summer." A great date movie, unless you are about to break up with someone....if that's the case stay clear of this one.

Last weekend Kacie, Adam, and Taylor came to see us. We spent Friday night and Saturday morning together before heading up to Jodi's parents house. Taylor is about as perfect as they come. I fully expected to hear some serious crying through the night. One little peep which was quieter than the dishwasher was all we ever heard....amazing. Did I mention she looks like a little doll?

Below are pictures from the last two weekends. Click here for the larger slideshow.
