Videos from Cabo

I wanted to backup and post these videos. The first two are of Pueblo Bonito Sunset. They give you a little better sense of how massive the place is.  The sky pool is empty because there were not enough people there so they closed it.  The last video is of our friend Jim & Mara Hart's home in La Playita.  What is amazing about this video is that Jim bought that property 20 years ago (guessing).  It had a small 2 room house on it with a palapa roof.  Where that beutiful marina now stands, there was a jungle of dense baboo, trees, and bushes...it was THICK.  It totally blows my mind that they built a marina in his back yard.  What is even more amazing is that Jim called it.  I thought he was crazy when he said "there are plans to build a marina here and it will come right up to my back yard."

Fleetwood Mac still has it

Jodi and I went and saw Fleetwood Mac last night in Oakland. The original members were there minus Christine McVie.  They sounded amazing, Stevie Nicks sounded better than she ever has and Linsey Buckingham is beyond words on guitar.  Instead of releasing an album this year they decided to just go on tour and play their hits.  Every song they played had the entire crowd singing.  Another cool part about the concert was that they introduced many songs by telling you how they wrote it and why.  We found out theta Lindsey Buckingham grew up just south of Palo Alto and Stevie Nicks went to Menlo Atherton High School, not far from us.  The highlight of the night for me was Buckinghams solo of Big Love (below).

A Classic Video to take you back:

Stuff white people like

The volleyball in the pool today reminded me of the website "stuffwhitepeoplelike." Yes we love water games, especially if there are free drinks involved. Jodi and I played 2 days ago after we were 20 drinks deep from our snorkle cruise turned party boat. I think we lost, which is a good thing because we did not need anymore drinks. Cloudy water and jellyfish changed the nature of the boat. It's normal to take body shots off your wife on a snorkle cruise right? Hey, we're just two 31 year old acting like we are on spring break 2009.

Today is our last day so we are soaking it up. Happy hour just hit so I'm putting down th iPhone.

Cabo update

Right now I'm all about getting these pictures posted and geting in the pool.   Jodi and I had an epic day with some long time family friends and caught up over a few beers, some old roads, and good memories.  I'll write more later but I at least wanted to get the pictures loaded.

Quick Update, Mexico, and Pergolas

It's been a while since my last post.   Lately I have just wanted to disconnect on the weekends, avoid the laptop, turn off the phone, ignore the email and facebook.  I guess it's a symptom of feeling on call all week, who's to say.

Last weekend I went over to Mike Allegri's house in Redwood City to help him with his pergola (trellis).  He had done all the hard stuff like setting the 8"x8" posts in cement and getting the height right.  By the end of the day we were able to get the spacing we wanted, get the backplate anchored to the house

Today we are headed to Napa to celebrate Mothers Day with Jodi's family.  I bought a cool expanding kite yesterday at REI and I cant wait to test it out.  It's made by the same company that make those crazy competition kites you see people flying in San Francisco. http://www.rei.com/product/784712.  When packed up it sits completely flat and has the shape of an avocado.  When you want to use it it quickly expands.

On Monday we are going to be going to Cabo San Lucas for a week.  We cancelled our trip last Sunday, but on Monday when we learned that the swine flu was just like the normal flu we decided to re-book.  We're thinking it should be pretty empty down there :-)
