Landcruiser Inspection and Yard Madness

This weekend I met up with Terry who is also the owner of a yellow FJ40.  He works with Mike Allegri at Cupertino Electric.  He has a 1975, and mine is a 1976 so there are a lot of similarities between the two.  We chatted for an hour or two and then headed down to Campbell to meet his mechanic.  We spent a 3-4 hours checking various things from engine to exhaust.   Through some research we  found a smog legal header that could replace my badly cracked exhaust manifold.  That seems to be the next big project.

Sunday I woke up with little direction on what I wanted to do with my day.  At 10AM I heard the vent on the top of my chimney squealing from the wind so I decided to put up the ladder and fix it.  Once fixed I noticed my gutters were full of leaves.  After I cleaned those I saw that a tree next to the house needed to be trimmed.  After that I looked down at my lawn and noticed it need a trim.  After the trim I noticed how much dirt was showing in the corners.  After tearing up the soil I realized that I needed lawn seed, and while I was at it I should fertilize.  After that I thought it made sense to move some dirt around.  After that I realized all my tree trimmings needed to be broken down and put in recycling.  In the process of doing that I realized I nuked part of my neighbors side yard with roundup a few weeks back so I decided to clean that up and trim his yard.  After that it looked like a hurricane swept through my yard so I busted out the blower, which I take great pleasure in using.  On top of that I pumped the brown water out of my pond-in-progress, and repainted the front door.

So here I am Monday morning sore as $&^@ and wishing I had one more day off.

Whistler Day 2

We had an awesome day of skiing.  The flurries started around 11 but they were light and added a nice layer of soft snow.  We were all over the mountain today, we covered both Whistler and Blackcomb.  We stopped about 1 for a bite to eat and a beer.  So far the food has been unreal.  There are so many people from so many countries working up here it makes sense. Jodi had an awesome day and really improved with the good conditions.  I think she finally understands why people love this sport.  We just got back from the hot tub and our legs are jello.  We're expecting more snow tonight so tomorrow should be epic.

Whistler update

The flight and 2.5 hour drive to Whistler was easy.  Some of the sights along the way were amazing.  We feel like we are on top of the world.  Below are some pictures from the day.  They are not exciting but I'm excited to be here.  So far I have not met a single American.

We're off to Whistler

This year I failed to make my companies annual Peak Performers club trip to Hawaii.  I'd be lying if I said I was not disappointed but I work with an amazing group of people and the competition was fierce.  So although Jodi was probably really wishing for some time on Maui this year courtesy of the company I had another idea.  SKI TRIP!  That's right, we're going to where the temperature right now is 17 degrees and the snow blankets glaciers for as far as the eye can see.  Thankfully for Jodi we are doing it right at the Westin in the Village where she can take advantage of the spa and I can get on a gondola out the front door.  We're leaving tomorrow at 8 AM and I cant wait.  I'll be bringing my laptop so stay tuned for updates

What does my company actually do?

This is about the best description I have seen of what Cloud Computing is and what salesforce.com actually does.  The word "Cloud Computing" has really only gotten popular this year but we have been doing this since 1999.
